Rango de precios: desde €78,00 hasta €645,00 (Inc. Tax)

COATLICUE – AZTEC MOTHER GODDESS

Discover one of the most powerful and enigmatic figures of ancient Mexico through this historical sculptural reconstruction of Coatlicue, the legendary mother goddess of the Mexica civilization.

Known as “She of the Serpent Skirt,” Coatlicue represents some of the most profound concepts within Aztec cosmology. She is associated with the earth, fertility, creation, death and the continuous cycle of regeneration — fundamental forces within the Mexica understanding of existence and the universe.

Her extraordinary appearance combines serpents, skulls, claws and elaborate symbolic ornamentation, creating one of the most complex and instantly recognizable images to survive from the ancient Americas.

Today, Coatlicue is regarded as one of the great masterpieces of Aztec, Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican sculpture.

Our interpretation seeks to preserve the commanding presence, intricate symbolism and monumental character of this remarkable historical figure, creating a distinctive sculptural piece for collectors fascinated by the civilizations of ancient Mexico.

Historical Sculptural Reconstruction

This historical sculptural reconstruction is developed in our workshop using carefully prepared visual references of the original historical artwork as the foundation of the creative process.

From these references, we individually develop our own three-dimensional model as an original artistic and historical representation of the ancient sculpture. The model is not produced through a direct three-dimensional scan of the historical object, nor is it an exact three-dimensional copy of the original.

After the digital reconstruction has been completed, the sculpture is individually produced in our workshop and enters an extensive handcrafted finishing process.

This includes careful preparation, refinement of the surfaces, correction and finishing work, followed by the manual application of the final patina and surface treatment.

The completed sculpture therefore brings together our own digital historical reconstruction and extensive traditional craftsmanship, resulting in an individually finished piece with its own distinctive character.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The sculpture is produced using high-density resin filled with museum-grade and prosthetic-quality materials, materials of the type used professionally in museums, cinema, theatre and cultural institutions around the world.

We do NOT use:

Plaster — due to its fragility
Mineral-based stone powder composites — which can reduce fine surface definition
Plastic or similar materials — which diminish both the quality and substantial feel of the finished sculpture

We specifically select this resin because of its:

💎 Excellent durability
🎨 High level of precision
✋ Exceptional ability to reproduce intricate sculptural details

Following production, every sculpture receives extensive manual finishing and individual quality control in our workshop to achieve the premium standard expected of a collector-grade piece.

The photographs displayed in this listing show the actual finish of our sculptures, allowing collectors to clearly understand the appearance and character of the piece they are purchasing.
